  Have just completed Basic A Indonesia Course with Iwan. Picking up a new language is never easy, however Iwan was attentive to identify the class' strengths on our known languages and built a strong context to enable the class to pick up indonesia quickly. In addition, he's an engaging teacher that adapt his teaching style to the situations to aid us in our course of learning of a new language.   Excellent Indonesian classes taught by Iwan. I went from zero to a conversational level in just a few weeks. The material and structure is well designed for busy professionals.

  Completed intensive one to one classes via Zoom with Learn Indonesia Hub (LIH) 1Q-2Q2020, from beginner proficiency to B1 proficiency.Three advantages1. Proprietary materials provided by LIH are by far the most structured, comprehensive, and understandable. For beginner students, this makes a world of difference especially when you progress to the intermediate levels, as the grammar rules can get very confusing (me-i; me-kan etc).2. Guru Iwan is engaging and professional. He was able to explain concepts in several ways, both in English and simple Mandarin. This speeds up the learning process. In addition to proprietary materials, Guru Iwan enriches lessons with off-the-shelf material (textbooks, videos, quizzes, new articles). This exposes the learner to a wider range of vocabulary and sentence structure.3. The learner will be able to gain insights to Indonesian culture and slang. As someone with an Indonesian and Singaporean background, Guru Iwan is also able to relate cultural contexts, similarities, and differences.   I have a very nice learning experience with the teacher and also classmates. I enjoyed the question and answer very much because veey practical and I can use them with my helper and relatives. Price is reasonable and book content is written well. Class size also just nice and big and comfortable.

  I really enjoy my Bahasa classes with Iwan. I am now starting Intermediate A and thus far I notice that each chapter builds on the previous one, such as the use of vocabulary, and this is good because repetition helps learners remember and learn faster. Iwan’s teaching also includes all skills of language learning – reading, writing, listening and speaking – and more. His careful explanations of the rules of grammar help me understand the applications and context. Very often, Iwan uses extra examples which he thinks up on the spot and this helps a great deal. What I like about the classes is that Iwan uses emphasis on particular words while reading out the sentences, and this really helps me understand how to use those words for specific contexts. Sometimes he has to exaggerate the emphases on the words and this makes us laugh, but this is an effective teaching tool – it reveals nuances in the way a word is used, and it also really helps me understand how syntax (sentence structure) can define and refine the speaker’s intentions. I certainly recommend wholeheartedly!

  I am from the Baisc B class. The pace of learning is just nice especially for me as I am in my 50s. Even though my classmates are younger , the lecturer keep the pace easy for us and yet fun to learn. Hope to progress and continue with the intermediate level.
