Our Basic B Bahasa Indonesia Regular Course is run for 12 weeks (1 class per week) and suitable for learners who have completed the Basic A Course. To skip Basic A and join a Basic B Course, learners will have to take and pass a placement test.

All lessons are conducted in English.

I had an extremely productive 2 months with Pak Iwan learning basic Bahasa Indonesian. He is a master of the language... and all of its intricacies. Because of this, he was able to understand my learning style and teach me in a way that allowed me to retain large quantities of information. Have just completed Basic A Indonesia Course with Iwan. Picking up a new language is never easy, however Iwan was... attentive to identify the class' strengths on our known languages and built a strong context to enable the class to pick up indonesia quickly. 5 stars! Completed Bahasa Intermediate A here (and currently continuing with Intermediate B) with prior experience... learning Bahasa with a mix of school classes and private tutor. Chanced upon teacher Iwan and decided to give it a try with a cosy class size of 4. Must say it’s the best I’ve attended and I find myself retaining the vocab and sentence structure much better.The proprietary workbooks provided are top notch and clearly details the information without it being too difficult to grasp and pacing is just nice. This school uses many varieties of teaching methods so that it is not boring, such as listening, quizzes, conversations and teacher Iwan really brought the learning to life along with his enthusiasm and anecdotal stories. Learning is not restricted to just textbook as we are taught slangs and colloquial phases. You might find yourself learning some bonus life lessons along the way!We are each given one table due to the current covid measures and it’s well stocked with amenities like hand sanitizer, wipes, pens and there are also drinks and snacks prepared for students for a conducive environment. For beginner students, this makes a world of difference especially when you progress to the intermediate levels, as the grammar rules can get very confusing (me-i; me-kan etc).2. I really enjoy my Bahasa classes with Iwan. I am now starting Intermediate A and thus far I notice that each chapter... builds on the previous one, such as the use of vocabulary, and this is good because repetition helps learners remember and learn faster. Iwan’s teaching also includes all skills of language learning – reading, writing, listening and speaking – and more. His careful explanations of the rules of grammar help me understand the applications and context. Very often, Iwan uses extra examples which he thinks up on the spot and this helps a great deal. What I like about the classes is that Iwan uses emphasis on particular words while reading out the sentences, and this really helps me understand how to use those words for specific contexts. Sometimes he has to exaggerate the emphases on the words and this makes us laugh, but this is an effective teaching tool – it reveals nuances in the way a word is used, and it also really helps me understand how syntax (sentence structure) can define and refine the speaker’s intentions. I certainly recommend wholeheartedly!read more
